Free Money Worksheets for Kids (By Age and Topic)

Updated January 14, 2026

What makes a money worksheet actually useful

A worksheet is only as good as the thinking it asks for. The most common failure mode is a worksheet that asks a child to recall a definition ("what is a budget?") rather than apply one ("here's £10 - split it between these four jars and explain why"). The second kind produces genuine learning; the first produces a memorized sentence that fades within a week.

For a classroom setting specifically, a worksheet that has no single right answer - where two students could reasonably split the same £10 differently - tends to generate better discussion than one with a single correct total to check against.

What we recommend, by age band

The same underlying skill needs a genuinely different worksheet format across the age range Money Quest covers:

  • Ages 6-8: physical, visual worksheets - sorting pictures of items into needs/wants columns, coloring in a jar as a savings goal fills up.
  • Ages 9-11: simple allocation worksheets with a fixed total to split across labeled categories, plus one open "explain your choice" line.
  • Ages 12-14: short scenario-based worksheets ("you have £30 and these three goals - what would you do and why") that ask for reasoning, not just a completed table.

Free downloadable worksheets, inside each matching lesson

Beyond the principles above, Money Quest now includes 20 free, printable PDF worksheets, each matched to a specific lesson across the three age bands, plus a single answer key covering all of them. Open a matching lesson inside Money Quest and you'll find a worksheet link waiting there - not every lesson has one yet, but the ones that do cover core topics like saving, scams, digital money, and needs versus wants. The worksheets themselves are English-only for now, whatever language you're using elsewhere in Money Quest. In the meantime, every principle on this page is also fully demonstrated inside Money Quest's own Build a Budget and Save or Spend games, which are the interactive equivalent of exactly this kind of worksheet.
